Death Becomes Her

Robert Zemeckis’s 1992 cult classic, Death Becomes Her, stars Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn as friends-turned-rivals whose pursuit of eternal youth leads them to a mysterious potion and increasingly extreme cosmetic disasters. Bruce Willis plays the unfortunate plastic surgeon caught between them, while Isabella Rossellini steals the show as the glamorous woman offering immortality at a significant cost.
One of the most iconic films of the 90s, beneath it all sits a wicked satire of Hollywood, ageing and the human obsession with trying to stay young and beautiful forever. It’s a perfect fit for Gandules, CCCB’s open-air summer cinema series, which this year explores beauty, perfection and youth through fantasy, horror and science fiction.
The film will be shown in the museum’s Pati de les Dones in its original language with subtitles in Catalan.
