Filmets 2026
By Charlotte Stace

FILMETS Badalona Film Festival returns for its 52nd edition of celebrating the short film. One of Catalunya’s longest running film festivals, it proves that a film doesn’t have to be two hours to be a hit - sometimes just ten minutes is enough to unsettle, charm, devastate or completely surprise you.
This year's programme spreads across Badalona and Barcelona, with screenings at Teatre Zorrilla, El Círcol and Teatre Margarida Xirgu, plus sessions at Institut Français, Cinema Catalunya in Terrassa and Cinema Edison in Granollers. Admission is free, with programmes covering international shorts, Catalan work, family screenings, fantasy and horror, and special sessions in local libraries.
Alongside the screenings, FILMETS Pro brings industry talks for filmmakers and young creators, including sessions on how films reach the big screen, changing viewing habits and 3D production.
