The latest guise of the Piknic/Brunch stable is called Hivernacle and, as the name suggests, clubbers are protected from the elements and kept cozy by an enormous transparent structure occupying the Plaça Major of Poble Espanyol. Fitted with impressive illumination, surround sound and fake foliage, the stable offer two dates this December to make sure there is an alternative to the sofa or Christmas shopping to occupy your days off.

The 7th is a massive proposition, programmed by the Texan RA star Maceo Plex and featuring heavyweights of modern techno and house production such as Redshape, Matrixxman and Boddika in two rooms, from 10pm till 4am. The second date is a return to the traditional Brunch format, a Sunday jump-off running from 3pm till 10pm to the grown-up tech-house soundtrack of Apollonia, Ryan Elliot and Premiesku’s live show.

Event production and design have taken a step forward with the introduction of Hivernacle.
