Solar Eclipse From Montjuïc

The 2026 solar eclipse will see the Moon slide almost completely across the Sun, turning an ordinary summer evening into a rare, surreal moment when the whole city stops and looks up. Spain lies along the path of a total eclipse for the first time in more than a century, while Barcelona will experience a near-total view, with around 99.7% of the Sun obscured at its peak.
A solar eclipse isn’t something you experience every day, and to celebrate this you can join a group of people keen to catch it by meeting at Hotel Catalonia Plaza España at 6pm. From there, you’ll hike together up to Mirador del Migdia, where you’ll watch the eclipse with spectacular views while sharing a picnic and meeting new people. Afterwards, you’ll walk back together to Plaça Espanya and either end your evening or stay out and continue into the night.
