Mixtur Festival 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Mixtur returns for its 15th anniversary, bringing Barcelona another deep dive into contemporary music, sound art and new sonic creation. Founded in 2012, the festival is all about pushing at the edges of what music can be. It’s both a concert series, laboratory, and crucial meeting point for composers, performers, artists and listeners alike.
This year’s programme includes concerts, performances, installations, masterclasses, round tables and family activities, with highlights such as ESMUC Symphony Orchestra, Continuum XXI, Ulysses Ensemble, Rei Nakamura, Trio Abstrakt, DUO BMAV + Teranyines, Vertixe Sonora Ensemble and Carlota Cáceres. There are also installations by Jani Ruscica, Enric Socias and Luz González, plus a tribute to composer Jaume Padrós.
True to its mission, Mixtur also fosters education and inclusivity through workshops and participatory programmes. This is one of the city’s most unique festivals - don’t miss it. Full details of the lineup can be found on the event’s website.
