Record Store Day 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Record Store Day remains one of the best reminders that music culture still lives far beyond streaming platforms. Created to celebrate and support independent record shops, the annual event turns hunting for records into something more communal, with special vinyl releases, in-store activity and the enjoyment of spending a day around people who still care deeply about physical music.
Founded in 2007 by Eric Levin, Michael Kurtz, Carrie Colliton, Amy Dorfman, Don Van Cleave and Brian Poehner, Record Store Day is a celebration of vinyl culture starring independent record stores from the USA. It came to Spain in 2011 and has grown each year. This year, there’ll be more participating record stores than ever before, each bringing limited editions, reissues, exclusives and more. It’ll be a day of browsing, comparing finds and rediscovering the joy of vinyl.
