Ven'nus
By Charlotte Stace

Ven’nus brings the new wave of Catalan pop to Apolo as part of Primavera Tours. Behind the name is Valèria Núñez Saurí, the Sabadell-born composer and producer who began releasing music during the pandemic, shaping songs from poems and building a signature sound that’s often melancholic with flashes of optimism. Her influences span literature and sound: writers like Maria-Mercè Marçal, alongside artists such as Frank Ocean and Ferran Palau.
Why Venus? She finds the planet "very funny because it is the only one in the solar system that orbits backwards", and now she’s orbiting the Catalan pop scene on her own terms. The best bit about this gig? She’ll be backed by Jolly Damper, Néstor Pérez and Quim Mòdol coming to add extra muscle and texture to this live set.
