We/On Urquinaona
By Michael Mueller

When Holmes Place pulled out of Spain in 2024, its clubs never closed a day. Madrid’s Javier and Sergio Pellón – the brothers behind the WeMet gyms – picked up all five Spanish clubs and relaunched the whole network that September under a new flag, We/On. Nine clubs now carry the name, and two of them are in Barcelona; this one, steps from Plaça Urquinaona on Ausiàs Marc, makes the stronger case for what changed.
The premium bones are intact: an indoor pool, a spa and a solarium, plus dedicated studios for cycle, Pilates and yoga, separate strength and relaxation zones and a HYROX training area for anyone chasing that particular finish line. Where the club sets itself apart is the mind-body end of the schedule – Yin yoga, an advanced class taught in English, sonotherapy and meditation sessions, Cardio Barre and a hypopressives-based “Healthy Back” program sit alongside the usual Body Pump and Body Combat. Aquafit and Tai Chi round out the gentler end.
Personal training runs deep too, with specialists in Reformer Pilates, swimming, pregnancy training and functional recovery, and physiotherapy on site when something needs more than a foam roller. Members get the full courtesy kit – towels, hair dryers and straighteners, even a swimsuit dryer – and a Working Space for the laptop hours between sessions.
Its sibling We/On Balmes covers the Balmes end of the Eixample with a restaurant attached.
