We/On Balmes
By Michael Mueller

Of the nine clubs We/On runs since taking over the former Holmes Place network in 2024, Balmes is the one where you could plausibly spend the whole day. The formula the Pellón brothers built the brand around – premium facilities, everything under one roof – gets its fullest Barcelona expression here, on Balmes a few blocks up from Gran Via.
The core is familiar to anyone who knew the old club: an indoor pool and spa, studios for cycle, Pilates and yoga, a functional training room and a HYROX area for the competition-minded. What the others don’t have is the restaurant – an on-site dining room with a menu supervised by the club’s own nutrition team, which turns the post-workout meal from a protein bar in the changing room into an actual lunch. A lounge and a Working Space extend the stay for the laptop crowd.
The class schedule leans social: Zumba, salsa y bachata and Latin dance share the board with Body Pump, Body Combat, TRX Express, Aquafit, Tai Chi and a yoga roster that runs to Kundalini. Personal trainers specialize across strength, postural reeducation, pregnancy training and functional recovery, with physiotherapy on site. The courtesy details survived the rebrand too – towel service, lockers, hair straighteners, a swimsuit dryer.
The sibling club, We/On Urquinaona, holds down the other side of the Eixample with the stronger mind-body program.
