Atlanta rapper J.I.D - real name Destin Choice Route - built his reputation on speed, precision and impeccable storytelling. First through the Spillage Village collective and then via J. Cole’s Dreamville. Before rap fully took over, he was heavily into sports and studied at Hampton University, but music kept pulling him back.
His breakthrough started with The Never Story (2017), then DiCaprio 2 (2018), the project that pushed him wider, followed by The Forever Story (2022), arguable his most complete statement covering everything from family to Atlanta life
.His influences are varied with funk and soul at home (like Sly and the Family Stone and Earth, Wind & Fire), plus ’90s East Coast rap (Jay-Z, Nas, Mobb Deep). On this European tour, he’s joined by Chicago-based rapper Mick Jenkins. You don’t want to miss them live.
