Americana Film Festival
By Charlotte Stace

Americana Film Fest is the city's annual hit of North American indie cinema, bringing new discoveries that you’ll struggle to catch on a big screen otherwise.
The programme is neatly curated into strands: TOPS for the headline “must-sees” (buzz titles, audience favourites, major festival hits) and NEXT for emerging directors to watch.
For 2026, one of the headline draws is a Ross Brothers retrospective in collaboration with the Filmoteca de Catalunya. Their films blur documentary and fiction and make everyday life dreamlike. Some of their works include: 45365, Tchoupitoulas, Western, Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets and Gasoline Rainbow.
The festival will take place across several venues including Cinemes Girona, Zumzeig, Cinemes Texas and Phenomena Experience. For more information about the program, head to the event’s website. Ticket options range from single tickets (€8) to a six-ticket pass (€40).
