One of the cinematic highlights of the year, the Americana Film Festival is returning for its 12th edition, showcasing a selection of North American independent cinema.
This year's program features a diverse lineup of films. Highlights include Jane Schoenbrun's I Saw the TV Glow, a film exploring the impact of television on identity and reality perception; Philippe Lesage's Comme le feu, which delves into the adolescent psyche; and Vera Drew's The People's Joker, a satirical reinvention of the Batman universe from a trans and artistic resistance perspective. Other notable entries are Silver Star, a road movie addressing racial discrimination; and Passages by Ira Sachs, which focuses on contemporary love relationships.
The festival will take place across several venues including Cinemes Girona, Zumzeig, Cinemes Texas and Phenomena Experience. For more information about the program, head to the event’s website.
