Justine Triet’s Oscar nominated film, Anatomy of a Fall (2023) will be shown at La Filmoteca. Starring Sandra Hüller, Samuel Theis and Milo Machado Graner, if you missed it on the big screen before, now’s your chance to catch it.
The film follows a woman who is suspected of the murder of her husband following his fall from a window of their home. The trial dissects her life and marriage, and brings into the picture her half-blind son who was the main witness.
The 2023 Cannes Palme d'Or winner, this film presents a brilliant puzzle, perfectly attuned and measured, that questions our perception of reality and uses the investigation of a death to shine a light on the trials and tribulations of marriage and parenthood. The film was nominated for and won several awards during the awards season - a testament to Triet’s talent as a director.
