The Asian Film Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) returns for a fresh edition to celebrate films made by Asian directors around the world. The festival presents over 100 films from more than 20 countries across Asia and the Pacific, including China, Japan, India, Korea, Iran, as well as emerging cinemas from Mongolia, Nepal, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Each film has been selected for its high quality and poignance, with many of the films tackling issues such as historical narratives, gender issues, political conflict and much more. Some highlights this year include: 3670 (Korea), Circus of Life (Malaysia), Fear and Trembling (Iran), I’m Not An Actor (India), Karst (China), and Little Red Sweet (Hong Kong).
The festival will take place at a number of the city’s most prominent cinema venues such as Cinemes Girona, CaixaForum, Zumzeig and La Filmoteca. It also features online screenings via Filmin and broadcasts on Betevé.
