Choreoscope, Barcelona Dance Film Festival
By Charlotte Stace

Choreoscope, the Barcelona Dance Film Festival, celebrates the meeting point of dance and cinema, where movement, body and image merge into new visual languages. It sees the body as both “territory and life”, positioning movement as a form of storytelling. The festival has become a key Mediterranean hub for this art form, giving space to emerging voices and redefining what a dance film can be.
This year’s program include: Cendres (Spain, 2024), Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede (USA, 2025), Cuerpo es cuerpo (Argentina, 2024), Supersexual (Bulgaria, 2023), and Allegoritmic (Italy, 2025). Together, they reveal a global perspective - films where choreography and camerawork become inseparable.
Choreoscope invites both dance and film lovers to discover new forms of expression, while firmly placing Barcelona as the Mediterranean capital of dance-film culture. It’s a space for experimentation and creative dialogue between movement and image.
