Dart Festival
By Daisy Bata
The only documentary film festival based on contemporary art in Spain returns to Barcelona for its second year this November. Cinemes Girona will host, premiering national and international documentaries that explore the avant-garde throughout the last century, unifying art and cinema. Born with the intention of “intertwining culture and knowledge with the general public,” they are offering up documentaries on the lives of artists, their stories and their creative processes.
From Hockney – Time Reclaimed by Michael Trabitzsch, through Kusama: Infinity by Heather Lenz, Pistoletto by Daniele Segre, and On The Edge of Glory: The Life and Works of Pino Pascali by Maurizio Sciarra to The Secret Life of Portlligat – Salvador Dalí’s House by David Pujol, Dart provides a well-rounded selection that covers all the bases, with a little something for every taste.
