DocsBarcelona 2025

The international documentary festival DocsBarcelona returns for a new edition. This year’s programme features 42 films from 26 countries, exploring a range of themes such as colonialism, AI and female empowerment.
The lineup features a compelling mix of global and local stories. It opens with Agent of Happiness, a Bhutanese film examining the nation's pursuit of happiness, and includes noteworthy titles like Only on Earth, a Spanish-Danish co-production highlighting Galicia's wildfire challenges, and Daughter of Genghis, an exploration of Mongolian nationalism.Other highlights include Mr. Nobody Against Putin, a look at indoctrination in Russian schools; Facing War, a portrait of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg; Requiem for a Tribe, depicting the resilience of Iran’s Bakhtiari nomads; and Negro Limbo, examining Spain’s colonial legacy in Guinea.
Screenings will take place at venues including the CCCB, Renoir Floridablanca and Sala Phenomena, with a selection of films available online via Filmin.
