Festivalet
By Charlotte Stace
The 12th edition of Festivalet comes to Museu Marítim’s elegant Marqués de Comillas hall this December 14th and 15th. Beginning in 2009, Festivalet has been committed to promoting responsible consumption by supporting small artisan entrepreneurs.
Its yearly craft fair aims to encourage consumers to buy from the city’s artisans. Not only will this benefit the local economy, but it will also reduce the environmental impact of mass consumption. Stalls will include products from local designers, informal food to eat in or take away, books and magazines published locally and more. On offer as well are a series of 2-hour workshops aimed at adults on creative techniques such as making natural cosmetics, Nordic knitwear or terrariums; each cost €40 including materials, with Friday, December 13th as the deadline for signing up
Coinciding with the season’s shopping fever, this craft fair presents the perfect opportunity to discover new brands and products that won’t be seen anywhere else. Head down to meet the local labels and find your loved ones an imaginative, original and fairly traded gift this Christmas.
