After last month’s premiere at Madrid’s La Casa Encendida, indie sleeper hit Ikea 2 now opens in Barcelona. The Burnin’ Percebes (Juan González and Fernando Martínez) production tells the story of a divorcee approaching his mid-life crisis (David Pareja) who becomes enmeshed in a neurotic relationship with an 18-year old student (played by breakout star Lucía Cafeína).
The relatable tale ridicules the everyday miseries we all experience – or will experience. Burnin’ Percebes as well as Marc Crehuet, director of the Goya-nominated El Rey Tuerto, will speak following the showing at Cinemes Girona on Wednesday, April 19th. (Film is in Spanish.)
