In-Edit Festival 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Barcelona’s In-Edit Festival is dedicated to music documentaries, and for 10 days it transforms cinemas into spaces where great musical stories are discovered. Now in its 24th edition, the festival returns with around 70 films exploring the people, scenes and stories behind rock, punk, hip-hop, flamenco, electronic music, funk and plenty more.
The festival opens with Broken English, Jane Pollard and Iain Forsyth’s portrait of the late Marianne Faithfull. Later, Questlove turns his attention to Earth, Wind & Fire, while Bowie: The Final Act revisits David Bowie’s final creative years, and photographer Glen E. Friedman dives into punk and skate culture with The Fuck You Heroes. There’s also a new documentary on flamenco-rock pioneers Triana.
The closing film, The Best Summer, dives straight into ’90s alternative rock with backstage footage of Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Beck, Bikini Kill and more.
