Larry Clark (director) teaming up with Harmony Korine (scriptwriter) in the mid-90s was always going to be explosive, and with 1995's Kids both made a huge splash with their feature debuts in their respective roles. Starring Chloë Sevigny, Rosario Dawson, Leo Fitzpatrick and Justin Pierce - also all making their feature debuts - Kids follows a group of teenagers as they try to navigate a world of casual sex, drug use and violence with little to no adult supervision.

Telly (Fitzpatrick) is a teenager obsessed with sleeping with virgins, who gives Jennie (Sevigny) HIV during his encounter with her at the start. Clark's detached, documentary style and the lack of a moral reckoning courted controversy and still does 30 years later, but what isn't disputable is Kids' place as a modern indie classic.
