Korean film festival

The Korean Film Festival Barcelona celebrates contemporary South Korean cinema with a programme that mixes big blockbusters with intimate indie screenings. This film festival was created with the aim of bringing Korean culture closer to the city through film.
This year’s edition will feature 20 titles, each chosen with the aim of highlighting the richness of Korean filmmaking of late. The festival will kick off on September 3rd with a screening of the acclaimed Boy In The Pool (Ryu Yeon-su, 2024). Highlights of the programme include: the tense thriller Nocturnal (2021) with Squid Game’s Ha Jung-woo, the chilling The Ghost Game (2025), and the romantic drama Love in the Big City (2024). Each film has been chosen to showcase the richness of Korean filmmaking.
Films will be screened at Cinemes de Girona and will be shown in Korean with subtitles in Spanish. Check out the full programme online.
