La Gran Pantalla 2025
By Charlotte Stace

It’s cinema season, and another film festival comes back for its annual edition. La Gran Pantalla - also known as the International Film Festival for the Elderly - offers an intergenerational meeting space to promote cinema as a tool for reflection and social transformation around the images and stereotypes that we as a society place on the elderly.
First and foremost, the festival aims to bring a killer lineup of films for us to enjoy. This year’s screenings include: Norbeta (July 1st), L’àvia i el foraster (July 2nd) Las novias del sur (July 3rd), and Ellas en la ciudad (July 5th).
Yet, beyond this, the festival also aims to act as a space where attendees can openly talk about a number of issues that affect older generations and combat the most common and damaging stereotypes. In addition to the screenings, there will be a series of activities including talks and workshops.
