La GRAN pantalla! returns with a bold celebration of ageing and cinema. This festival - otherwise known as Barcelona’s International Film Festival of Older People - uses film as a space for reflection, connection and social change, challenging stereotypes around the later years of life with humour and tenderness.

The 2026 edition comes with more screenings, dialogues and activities than ever before, under the banner of “stories that defy time”. The programme includes features and shorts such as Calle Málaga, El sendero azul, Vitória, Familiar Touch, Maspalomas, Siemprevivas, Los domingos mueren más personas, Tierra de nuestras madres, Cuatro madres and La casa.

Alongside the screenings, the festival opens up conversations with filmmakers, audiences and industry guests, creating an intergenerational meeting point. Ultimately, La GRAN pantalla! serves to remind us that getting older is not the end of the story - it’s where things get interesting.
