We were happily settling into a screening of David Lynch's surreal neo-noir thriller at Mooby Aribau around a month ago when, about half an hour in, a technical problem stopped the whole thing. Undeterred, the Lynch fans who arranged the special screening have rescheduled it for this Friday, and hopefully we and they will have better luck this time around.

Lost Highway isn't talked about nearly as much as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet or Mulholland Drive, but it's a strange, unsettling gem in its own right. It follows jazz musician Fred Madison (Bill Pullman), who starts to receive eerie videotapes of both the outside and inside of the home he shares with his wife, Renee (Patricia Arquette). The surreality and tension both ratchet up from there, enhanced by a dark and moody soundtrack by Lynch's longtime collaborator Angelo Badalamenti, that features tracks by David Bowie, Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails.
