Love Me Tender is a raw, emotionally charged drama from director Anna Cazenave Cambet, adapted from the autobiographical novel by writer Constance Debré. Led by a fierce and quietly devastating performance from Vicky Krieps, the film follows Clémence, a woman whose life implodes after she leaves her marriage and begins relationships with women, prompting her ex-husband to launch a brutal custody battle over their son.

Premiering in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the film blends courtroom realism with intimate character study, exploring sexuality, motherhood and the institutional prejudices faced by women who step outside conventional family structures. Cambet shoots Clémence’s struggle with sensitivity and summer-lit melancholy, while Krieps gives the character strength and vulnerability in equal measure.
