Mecal Air turns summer nights into relaxed open-air cinema sessions. After Mecal Pro’s main festival programme, this al fresco edition keeps the shorts coming in a lighter format. As the city’s leading International Short Film and Animation Festival, it champions the best in short-form cinema from around the world. 

This year it takes place at Mecal Factory and Museu Can Framis. The best bit? It’s completely free to attend, making it accessible to all. This year’s lineup is organised around themed sessions, including Comedy 1, Creative Advertising, Comedy 2, Erotic Short Films, Comedy 3, Horror and Comedy 4. In other words, it brings quick bursts of fiction, visual experimentation, absurd humour, social observation, strange desire, sharp little ideas and the odd little bit of horror.
