Mostra FIRE!! 2025
By Charlotte Stace

Mostra FIRE!! returns with a fresh lineup of international queer cinema. The 2025 edition celebrates 30 years of promoting diversity, equality and artistic expression through a curated mix of feature films, documentaries and shorts.
The festival’s name is a tribute to the homonymous magazine of the late twenties, FIRE!!. As the first LGBT film festival in Spain, established in 1995 in Barcelona, its main characteristics are a selection of arthouse cinema and an educational approach to engaging audiences through film. Across two weeks, enjoy an eclectic mix of films, with stories and testimonials from directors and creators who break barriers, fight for human rights and work to build a fairer and freer world.
Highlights include award-winning films such as: If I die, it’ll be of joy (Alexis Taillant), Los amantes astronautas (Javi Oran), Baby (Hadi Moussally), and The Last Taboo (Manfred Oldenburg). Screenings will be held at the French Institute, via Filmin, and at various venues across the city.
