My First Film Festival
By Charlotte Stace

Mi Primer Festival is back for its 19th edition, introducing the youngest of film lovers to the magic of cinema. Designed for children aged 3 to 12, the festival gives them the chance to experience a real film festival made up of international screenings, competitions, workshops and even the opportunity to vote for their favourite films.
This year's programme features more than 140 films from around the world, including animated shorts, family adventures and classics. Highlights include Julián, Iron Boy, Jasmine & Jambo, Little Casbah and The Secret World of Arrietty. There's also a special screening of The Goonies, a tribute to French animation studio Les Films du Nord, and films accompanied by live music and sound effects.
Aside from the films, kids can also get involved in creative workshops, meet filmmakers and discover how their favourite stories make it onto the big screen. Screenings will be taking place at venues including Filmoteca de Catalunya, Cinemes Verdi, CCCB and Cinemes Girona.
