Directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the Israeli filmmakers behind the Oscar-winning No Other Land, NAZA is a stark investigative documentary about the systems used to conduct Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Shot largely at night on Tel Aviv rooftops, it features testimony from Israeli military and intelligence insiders, speaking anonymously about the processes involved in selecting targets and assessing anticipated civilian casualties. The film is named for an acronym used by Israel’s intelligence service to indicate how many civilians it expects to die in an airstrike on Gaza.

Rather than concentrating on battlefield images, NAZA examines the bureaucracy, technology and language that can turn human lives into statistics. Its revelations build on three years of reporting by Abraham and others, including investigations published by The Guardian, which also produced the film, +972 Magazine and Local Call. Executive produced by Jonathan Glazer, the film won the Special Jury Prize at the 2026 Venice Film Festival and is likely to win plenty more prizes in the months to come. Zumzeig, a consistently and fiercely pro-Palestinian presence on Barcelona's cultural scene, will be the perfect place to watch it.
