Not to be confused with the epic Peter Jackson-directed documentary of the same name, this 1991 concert film by Richard Lester, who had previously made the classic Beatles films A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help! (1965), documents Paul McCartney's record-breaking World Tour of 1989-1990. Unashamedly and clearly cut together from multiple performances and featuring lots of ecstatic crowd shots (and a curious amount of footage of animals), Get Back is one to suspend your disbelief and get lost in as McCartney and his band run through 20 Beatles and Wings classics including Band On The Run, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Back In The USSR and Live And Let Die.

Lester, who is now 92 and very much still with us, had retired from filmmaking in 1988 after the death of his close friend Roy Kinnear on the set of his film The Return of the Musketeers. He only returned to the fray once, to make this film, which is imbued with all the love you'd expect from a final project he apparently just had to make.
