Sagrada Família Christmas Market
By Charlotte Stace
The wonderful thing about Christmas in Barcelona is the amount of Christmas markets held across the city during December.
The Christmas Market at the Sagrada Familia has been held opposite Gaudi’s iconic Sagrada Familia since the early 1960s. There you’ll find up to 100 stalls selling a range of figures and elements for nativity scenes, Christmas trees and plants, gifts and food. There will also be a number of churros stalls, as well as chestnuts and sweet potatoes on sale for a traditional treat while you shop. In addition, there are some free family activities organized such as contests, workshops, music and theatre.
You’ll also have a photo opportunity with a giant “Tió” and “Caganer”. If you’re looking for a truly unique gift this year for friends and family, then head over to the Sagrada Famila and see what’s in store. The market will be open daily in the run up to Christmas and the Day of the Magic Kings.
