There was a good long while in the 1990s and early 2000s when, at least to the sort of ferocious underground music snob I was at the time, Mick Hucknall and Simply Red seemed to embody the very worst overpaid, complacent, middle-of-the-road drivetime drivel the music industry had to offer. The band has long been rehabilitated to a point of general affection by now though, allowing us all to sit back and enjoy the likes of Simply Red Live in Santiago stigma-free.

This show in Chile's capital was part of the band's 40th-anniversary world tour, which is still very much in progress. It includes Money's Too Tight to Mention, Stars, Holding Back the Years and all the other hits you'd expect, alongside behind-the-scenes interviews with Hucknall on he and his band's 40 years at the top.
