Festival u22
By Charlotte Stace

The 4th edition of Festival u22, Barcelona’s Young Short Film Festival - brings together some of the brightest and best emerging filmmakers from around the world. It offers both in-person screenings at the Fundació Joan Miró and a complementary online platform to widen its reach and foster creative exchange.
And, as the name suggests, the festival invites filmmakers aged 22 or under to submit short or feature films of any theme or genre. Short films must be under 40 minutes, while feature submissions are longer. Whether it’s their debut film or they’re seasoned filmmakers, all are encouraged to participate.
For the best short film of the year, participants will win a cash award of 1000 Euros, and other perks such as rental discounts, equipment use, and opportunities for online visibility. The festival also includes a public-choice award, promotional support, and is designed to encourage networking and the opportunity to discover fresh talent.
