La Zona: Halloween House of Horrors
By Charlotte Stace

Think you’ve outgrown being scared of the dark? LA ZONA would like to put it to the test. Poble Espanyol’s horror experience returns for a second edition, transforming part of the site into a spooky playground where monsters and villains you thought you’d left safely behind on the screen come out to play.
It’s an immersive experience with performers, sets and surprises built in to spook us. In other words, it’s ideal for the friend who insists horror films “don’t scare them” and needs to have that theory tested. If you make it out with your dignity intact, there’s a post-scare zone with music, food, drinks and games where you can decompress.
Last year’s edition stretched across more than 4,000m² and unleashed over 30 terrifying characters into the darkness. So expect sinister figures lurking around corners, unexpected encounters and plenty of jump scares.
