The Disseny Hub Barcelona welcomes its latest exhibition, ‘Here We Are! Women in Design 1900 – Today’. It offers a critical overview of the achievements and the working conditions of female designers since the early 1900s.
The exhibition presents objects created by leading female designers in a range of areas in design, from furniture, interiors, graphic design and lighting, to textiles, ceramics and jewellery. Some of the designers include Charlotte Perriand, Gae Aulenti, Lina Bo Bardi and Eileen Gray.
Produced by the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, the exhibit will come to the Disseny Hub with an additional section focusing on Spanish design. The display in Barcelona will include the results of research done by the Collections department. One section will shine a light on pioneering female designers of the 60s, 70s and 80s, while another will be added with designs for women, with contemporary pieces.
