abysmo: Ange Halliwel and Tarara!

The promoters of this night, abysmo, are one of the most consistently interesting pushers of experimental and avant-garde music in the city, and have as ever excelled in bringing these two artists together. Headliner Ange Halliwell comes from southwestern France, and has crafted his own artistic universe in which the harp, hypnotic arpeggios and layers of vocals mingle with soundscapes that draw on tradition, lyricism, and horror. "I'm playing the harp and I love talking with ghosts," as Halliwell memorably and succinctly says.
Tarara!, meanwhile, is a project from Marco Henri and Valeria Baret that sits at and explores the intersection of ambient and experimental pop through meticulous production and an immersive sonic palette. Here, the duo present their live show for the first time.
