Acid Pauli four-hour set
By Kit Macdonald

"It was a very good friend of mine who shouted 'Acciiiiidd Pauliiii' at a small illegal party in Munich, some 20 years ago. I was playing with a laptop only. The software was Rebirth, which emulates the acid machines: Roland TB-303, TR-909, and 808. Everything you did with this software sounded like acid house. The nickname Paul was given to me by some schoolmates."
So goes the story of how the Bavaria-born Martin Gretschmann came by his supremely appropriate musical moniker, which takes in original productions as a six-piece band also known as Console, as well as solo productions and his expansive, ambient-meets-techno DJ sets, which will be very much the vibe for this four-hour show at Nitsa. Warmup duties fall to Tibi Dabo, and downstairs in Astin there are sets from ABSOLUTE., Andre VII and Ferdiyei.
