Brazilian samba singer Alcione comes to celebrate an incredible 50 year-long career with fans at Sala Apolo.

She was born in São Luís into a musical family and spent much of her youth studying music. When she was 20, she moved to Rio where she worked at the city's TV Excelsior, and later went on tour in Argentina and Chile. After returning, she settled in São Paulo, working in nightclubs and making appearances on television. In 1970, she started her European two-year-long tour, performing as a vocalist and trumpet player.

Upon her return, she recorded her first album A Voz de Samba (1975), which was an instant hit and cemented her reputation as one of the country’s best samba singers. The rest, as they say, is history. Since then, she’s had nineteen gold records, as well as five platinum and double platinum records. Join her in celebrating half a century on the stage.
