Amanda Mur was born on the Bay of Biscay, in Cantabria, has a background in classical composition and performance, and has of late taken this training and her personal heritage into new musical territory with her debut LP, Neu Om, which she will play in full at this live show at Casa Montjuic.

The record has a unique sound and conceptual shape, with a musical blend taking in elements of cumbia, fado, classical piano, folk, Gregorian chant and modern club music and a lyrical and conceptual vision informed by her homeland's rich folklore and the mystic philosophies of the 12th-century German Benedictine abbess and polymath Hildegard von Bingen. It's a hugely successful abandonment of regular ways of making music and an impressive distillation of multiple complex influences, and this live show is sure to be equally nourishing.
