Baiuca + Júlia Colom
By Charlotte Stace

Univers Paral·lel and Grec Festival join forces for a double bill rooted in tradition but wired for the present. Baiuca and Júlia Colom share the stage for the first time, bringing two contemporary visions of folk music into conversation - one from Galicia’s misty mountains, the other from Mallorca’s sea-drenched traditions.
Baiuca, the project of Alejandro Guillán, has become one of the most influential names in electronic roots music, transforming Galician songs, tambourines and percussion into avant-garde, club soundscapes. With his third album Barullo, he keeps pushing folklore to the forefront. Júlia Colom presents Paradís, her second album, where Mallorcan traditional song becomes modern pop shaped by landscape and home.
Each artist performs a full set, before coming together for an unreleased song performed jointly for the first time.
