Barcelona goes reggaeton
By Charlotte Stace
It’s hard to live in Barcelona without hearing the rhythmic beats of reggaeton. Whether it’s playing in the shops, bars or coming out of beach-goers speakers, it’s everywhere. But it’s not just a musical phenomenon that has enraptured Barcelona, it’s taken the world by storm and is one of the most streamed music genres across the entire globe.
So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that there’s been a rise in summer music festivals dedicated to reggaeton in recent years. And now there’s a new one. Held at Poble Espanyol, Barcelona Goes Reggaeton brings together some of the greatest artists of this genre for two full days: Arcángel, Blessed, Ryan Castro, Beele, Baby Rasta & El Gringo, Yomil, L- Gante, Jey-One and Guaynaa.
Under the sunset, you can while away the evenings dancing and singing to some of your favourite reggaeton hits. Doors open at 6pm. Music runs from 7pm until midnight - we’ll see you on the dancefloor.
