Clàssica a la platja, part of the Barcelona Obertura initiative, brings free classical concerts to Platja de Sant Sebastià. Presented by some of the city’s biggest classical music organisations - L’Auditori, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Palau de la Música Catalana - it promises two evenings of iconic orchestral works.

On July 9th, the Liceu Choir and Symphony Orchestra will open with Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream followed by arrangements from the Catalan musical Mar i Cel, including contributions from Albert Guinovart and Dagoll Dagom performers.

On July 10th, the Barcelona Symphony & National Orchestra, and Palau’s chamber choir, will perform selections from Bizet’s Carmen and Granados’s Tres danzas españolas.

Join around 30,000 listeners on the sand and soak up the moving live music - all set against the backdrop of the sun setting over the Mediterranean. What could be a more iconic Barcelona summer evening than that?
