American rock band Cracker was co-founded by David Lowery and Johnny Hickman in 1990.

Their sound is a mix of alternative rock infused with country, folk, psychedelia, punk and blues. Together, they’ve built a reputation for creating music that feels deeply rooted in Americana, but with an edgy twist. Their breakout came in the early ’90s: their 1992 self-titled debut featured “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)”, and their follow-up, Kerosene Hat (1993), includes their signature track “Low”. Over the years, they’ve kept evolving, experimenting with different styles, and even re-recording or reworking their classics, as seen on their retrospective Alternative History (20244).

Despite decades together, Lowery and Hickman remain the core of the band. Joined by a number of extremely talented musicians over the years, they’ve released nine studio albums and several compilations, taken part in collaborations, solo projects and produced live albums. Don’t miss them performing live.
