A true "DJ's DJ", DJ Spinna, who was born Vincent Williams in Brooklyn in 1973, is a rightly revered producer, DJ, and remixer whose career bridges hip-hop, house, soul, and jazz with the kind of effortless fluency only a true natural possesses. Emerging in the 1990s underground scene, Spinna first came to prominence thanks to warm, sample-rich hip-hop beats that led to collaborations with artists of the stature of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Pharoahe Monch.
Since then he has become a respected figure in soulful house and broken beat, and his Wonder-Full and Soul Slam parties, which celebrate the music of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson respectively, have become international staples of soulful nightlife culture. Opening at La Paloma is SURUU, a UK selector based in Barcelona, while closing duties go to Pau Roca, one of the city’s most experienced and best-loved DJs.
