London-born DJ, producer and label boss Sandy Hagenbach, better known as Dr Banana, is a central figure in the contemporary revival of UK garage. His label of the same name has built a reputation for reissuing overlooked gems from the genre’s history while championing new producers, bringing the music’s golden-era roots to a new generation of dancers. Hagenbach’s own sets are similarly broad-minded and multi-era, moving beyond garage into house, electro, techno, minimal, breaks and much more.

A dedicated record collector, Hagenbach developed his love of UK white-label culture through free parties before establishing Dr Banana as both a label and a wider creative project that also includes streetwear and art. Releases have included music from artists such as El-B, K-Lone and Interplanetary Criminal, alongside reissues of long-lost tracks. Expect energy, playfulness and unexpected selections.
