With their latest album, last September's Things We Have in Common, Denmark's Efterklang closed a cycle that began with their 2019 "comeback" album Altid Sammen, and continued with the Wildflowers LP in 2021. That cycle has found them singing in Danish a lot more and exploring "a simpler, more inclusive form of expression, addressing themes such as human connection, the relationship between humans and nature and collective spirituality", while still turning out the kind of beautiful, cinematic post-rock, experimental pop and electronic fusion that's come to be expected of them.

Adding yet more spice to Efterklang's creative mix is the trajectory of co-founder Rune Mølgaard, who left the band in 2007 to join the Mormon Church but eventually left it and rejoined the band for this project, co-writing seven of its nine songs and bringing a wealth of new perspectives to the creative process from his long and unusual hiatus.
