El Pumarejo presenta: Mykki Blanco live
By Kit Macdonald

If you wanted to come up with a single musician who encapsulates a modern conception of a unique, independent-minded artist entirely devoted to doing things their own way, you could do a lot worse than choosing Mykki Blanco. A boundary-pushing rapper, poet and performance artist, Blanco's approach to music and identity are equally fearless.
Born Michael David Quattlebaum Jr. in 1986, Blanco emerged as a pioneer of queer hip hop in the early 2010s, blending raw lyrics and experimental beats and playing extraordinary live shows during which they, if the architecture of the room allowed, would roam and climb the space as they performed. Blanco will play both live and as a DJ at this show, which also features a DJ set from Adrasha and a b2b set from Mbodj and Alesh3000.
