Emmet Cohen Trio
By Charlotte Stace
The Emmet Cohen Trio comes to Jamboree Jazz Club this summer. Led by the 31 year old pianist and composer, Emmet Cohen, he is supported by Yasushi Nakamura on doublebass and Kyle Poole on drums.
Cohen has become one of the most important jazz musicians of his generation. A finalist in the Thelonious Monk competition, the most prestigious jazz competition in the world, he has worked with the likes of Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb, George Coleman, Jimmy Heath, Christian McBride, and Kurt Elling, among many other big names on the jazz scene.
As a solo artist, he released the Master Legacy Series in 2017, collaborating with jazz legends. Together with his trio, he released the live album Dirty in Detroit in 2018. They're now embarking on a European tour to play for fans and promote their new music.
