Etienne de Crecy
By Kit Macdonald

We'd recommend getting to this show from the much-loved Lyon-born DJ/producer Etienne de Crecy if you possibly can, but If you can't make it, fear not: he'll more than likely be planning an extensive and unmissable tour for 2026. That's because it'll be the 30th anniversary of the release of his album Super Discount, a remarkably influential fusion of house, funk, and disco that helped give rise to the French Touch house sound, a nineties club-music touchstone that set the stage for artists such as Daft Punk, Cassius, Stardust and Bob Sinclar.
De Crecy is an artists' artist, and his own releases, which have included Super Discount 2 (2004) and Super Discount 3 (2015), has always coexisted with sound-engineer work for artists including Alex Gopher and Philippe Zdar of Cassius. Beyond all this, de Crécy is known for his innovative live shows, particularly his Beats ‘n’ Cubes tour, which hinged on a groundbreaking 3D visual setup.
